How Do I Know If I Am Developing A Problem?

If you think your or someone else’s gaming is becoming problematic, then it may be handy to consider the self-assessment questions below.

  • Do you often re-live gaming experiences or think about future ones?
  • Do you hide or lie about your play?
  • Do you get very angry when someone or something interrupts a game?
  • When upset, do you relax yourself by playing or plans to play?
  • Do you find yourself playing in the early morning?
  • Do you find ways to play when away from home?
  • Do you set limits with playing and then break them, playing hours longer than intended?
  • Do you put off your responsibilities to play?
  • Do you feel guilt and shame around your play?
  • Does playing contribute to arguments in your relationships?
  • Has playing taken the place of your hobbies or activities you used to enjoy?
  • Do you forget appointments, responsibilities or deadlines in work or school when playing?
  • Do you become upset when people suggest you might be playing too much?
  • Do you skip social events to play?
  • Have you lost contact with friends and family since playing?
  • Do you have intense emotions (highs, lows, anger, fear) while gaming?

 

Useful Guidelines

If you are concerned about your play, there are a number of helpful guidelines:

  • Consider how long you wish any session to last before commencing and be sure to keep an eye on the clock.
  • If you are recovering from any form of dependency, or if you are under the influence of alcohol or any other mood-altering substance (including some prescription medication), play is not recommended.
  • You can close your ProphetX account any time.

Should you wish to access help and support services for people who have been adversely affected by play, we advise you to get in touch with the Computer Gaming Addicts Anonymous (CGAA) using the following email address: helpline@cgaa.info.

Keeping Track of Your Transactions 

  • You can easily access a full history of your transactions, purchases, and redemptions through the Account Statement section of the website.

 

Closing Your Account 

An account can also be closed permanently if you wish to no longer use the ProphetX site. This can be done on the settings page or by contacting support via email help@betprophet.co, telephone or Live Chat.

 

Staff Training/Awareness 

ProphetX's staff are trained to be aware of, and offer assistance to customers seeking assistance in relation to problem play. By seeking assistance, we help customers who contact and request support for problem play.

If required, ProphetX will cooperate with problem play service providers to support them in their work of assisting players who may need support with their behavior.

Please be aware that our staff will act in good faith in response to any questions provided by customers. If our staff suspect that a customer may have a problem, and a customer has contacted our staff, they may directly ask the customer if they need assistance with problem play. Only in circumstances where the customer states that they have a problem may ProphetX be on notice that the customer has a problem and such knowledge cannot be imputed in any other manner.  

Therefore, we request that all customers be honest and open if they feel they have a problem.
